Is Your Sage Payroll Software Healthy?

Posted in Sage Software

We are now into the 2009/2010 tax year and there is no better time for you to give your Sage Payroll software a health check. Should you not keep up to date with changes it increases the chance of incorrect submissions and subsequent fines!!!

What version are you using? To ensure that you are compliant with the current legislation it is vital to check the version of your Sage Payroll software. You should be using the following versions, Sage Instant Payroll v11.10, Sage Payroll v11.13 or v12.01, Sage 50 Payroll v13.07, v14.04 or 15.01- if you are not using one of these versions you should upgrade your Sage Payroll solution.

Employee Tax Codes- At the start of the new tax year changes were made to L suffix tax codes, your Sage Payroll software must reflect these changes to ensure compliance.

Holiday Entitlement- From 1st April 2009 the statutory minimum holiday entitlement increased, it is now 5.6 weeks including bank holidays- it is important that your holiday entitlement within your Sage Payroll software is compliant.

Online Submissions 2010

Posted in Sage Software

As of 1st April 2010 all VAT submissions must be completed and filed online. HMRC have made online submissions compulsory therefore after March 31st 2010 all businesses must file submissions online.

As we progress quickly through 2009 many accountants are suggesting that businesses begin to file online as soon as possible. By registering for online submissions in advance of the compulsory date it will provide you with the opportunity to adjust to the changes at your own pace finding issues now rather than later when it’s compulsory.

The Sage 50 product range makes light work of online submissions making filing online simple. Products in the range with this facility include Sage Instant Accounts, Sage Instant Accounts Plus, Sage 50 Accounts, Sage 50 Accounts Plus and Sage 50 Accounts Professional.

For more information on any of these products visit our online shop.
